Dual degree programme
GITAM University is introducing dual degree programme besides the regular undergraduate degree programme in B.Tech. By opting
for a dual degree programme, a student spends one year less to acquire a post graduate degree. At the end fifth year, he or she
will get an under graduate (B.Tech) and a post graduate (M.Tech) degree.
Admission into the dual degree programme is through GITAM Admission Test (GAT).
Most of the IITs are offering dual degrees in their B.Tech. and M.Tech programmes and GITAM is also introducing the programm
that can be completed in just five years. The students wishing to join the M.Tech have to achieve some credits in B.Tech.
University Vice-Chancellor G. Subramanyam announced the move to introduce the dual degree programme,during a review meeting
conducted on Sunday.Prof. Subramanyam said the dual degree programme is being planned following many requests received from
industries as well as experts.The dual degree programmes are being desinged to suit the industrial requirements and the desires
of the prospective students.

Admission schedule
GITAM University has announced its admission counselling schedule for B.Tech. and B.Pharmacy programmes for the academic year 2010.
Admission is based on the rank obtained by a candidate in the all-India online GITAM Admission Test (GAT)-2010 which was conducted
during April.
The online admission counselling starts on June 16 in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati.
GITAM University is offering the following B.Tech. programmes in its Visakhapatnam campus: Biotechnology, civil engineering,
computer science engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electronics
and instrumentation engineering, IT, mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering (manufacturing and management) and B.Pharmacy.
The programmes available in its Hyderabad campus are B.Tech. in civil engineering, computer science engineering, EEE, ECE, electronics
and instrumentation engineering, IT, mechanical and mechanical (manufacturing and management).
