With all due respect to the genuine concerns shown by the author, I would guess to disagree to an extent with him.
Just coz the western governments have discontinued the drugs doesnt mean we discontinue them too. The drugs that arent effective on Caucasians may be very effective on east asians or asians. When our genetic make up is different, the way the drugs work on us will be very different too.
There should be no universal authority taking a decision on holding back drugs from the market. At the same time, there should be through testing of how these drugs interact or work before deciding to let them be on the shelves.
